Well i guess i am no good at this blog thing, i cant remember the last time i updated it but here it goes. last weekend we headed to Florida for anything but a relaxing vacation. we went home for a wedding of good friends of ours from Gainesville but the weekend seemed to be nonstop. while Nash was with the groom, bachelor party, rehearsals, etc. i went home to visit my mom and start some planning for our own wedding. we headed to crystal river to our wedding location to sit down with our wedding coordinator, then headed back to Tampa where i finally found THE dress. it is perfect and not what i was expecting to find at all, but everyone was right once i had it on i knew and i finally felt like a bride!
this week we were both recovering from our "vacation" going back to work was hard on us both, but today we have spent most of the day relaxing, that is of course after i finished a half marathon this morning. that's right the first race in my countdown to NYC. I was certainly not prepared for the 13.1 mile course that seemed to be uphill the entire time. I was pleased with my time of 2:17, although if it had been a flat course in Florida, i think it may have been faster.
well that's all for now, I'll be sure to keep posting!

training...
so i have officially started training for the NYC marathon which is in november. This will be my second time running it and my 4th marathon overall. i am a little more nervous this time, i have taken about 3 years off from hard core training, but i am excited to tackle this feat once again. I think the biggest challenge will be our constant traveling. everytime we move i have to adjust to a new climate, different terrain, and find a new course. and then once i get comfortable and start really progressing with my runs it is time to move! it will be an exciting challange but i am looking forward to it. this time i have found a running group in hickory that runs on the weekends i think that will really help with my motivation. I will be sure to keep you posted on my progress.

New Blog
So, I have been sending out mass emails for over a year now, documenting our travels, and have finally decided that maybe this would a better outlet for that. We will see how it works, I will try to post our pictures on here as well. Any feedback would be great!
So we have been living in Hickory, NC for about 3 weeks now. I don't think it was what either of us had in mind when we signed on. Although we should have had an idea, when talking to other people the only thing they could associate with Hickory was furniture! So far we have already made 2 road trips, one Blowing Rock, where we attempted to ski, we weren't entirely successful as it was the last day of the season and very icy. Nash is determined to make this his new hobby, too bad he will have to wait another year to go again. Last weekend we went to Chimney Rock near Asheville. It was a nice hike with lots of stairs that took us to the top of a beautiful waterfall. This weekend we decided to stay in town and experience Hickory. Last night we went to the Hickory Motor Speedway, "Where Nascar Stars are Born". It was actually really fun, I think Nash enjoyed it because of the crashes. It may become our favorite Saturday night activity!
Next weekend we are looking forward to our first visitors. Nash's family will be coming to visit and we are very excited. We haven't set our itinerary yet, but I am sure we will have alot of fun!
Well this is the end of my first blog...come back often!
